Impeach every single one!
Every single Congressman who voted in favor of today's health care power trip needs to be impeached. There is no way each one read every single page, comprehended it, studied it, and consulted with their constituents on it. And then last night, they were given 500 pages of amendments!

Manufactured Protests
It is unwise for the administration to label people attending Town Hall meetings. It is surprising that the administration can't discern the difference between sincerely angry constituents and planted rabble-rousers with a political agenda. Seeing that as a community organizer, our president rounded up and sent out mobs to "get in the faces" of republicans during elections.

Spiritually Infantile
So I have a lady from our former church who is a friend on FB. She, in turn, is friends with her pastor and his wife. They, for whatever reason, have completely blocked me. I can't see their comments on her pictures and posts; I can't even bring their profile up if I search for them.
I know I don't want to see them or read their posts anyway, but that is just completely ignorant. I'm just so glad they are so close to Jesus that they are so superior.

Inborn? I doubt it
Just reading a popular magazine that I check out online sometimes. One of the headlines read, "These celebrity kids prove that a flare for fashion is in their genes."
Baaaalooooney! It proves that their parents shop for expensive clothes, and dress their kids in the latest trends. That's what it proves!
I think my kids look nice, too. And I am sure I spend a fraction of what they do.

Delayed apologies
It makes me angry when people wait to apologize until the very last minute, when the only reason for apologizing is to save face.
Dr. Gates sent flowers and a note to the lady who called the police when she thought someone was breaking into his house. If it HAD been a break-in, wouldn't he have appreciated her involvment? And where are the flowers to the police who responded so quickly?
This guy is just an arrogant, racist jerk. And the president is just like him.

Inattentive babysitting
My daughter is a brat. I love her dearly, but she is definitely going through a bratty stage. I had to take my son to the endocrinologist an hour and a half away, and I expected he'd have to have labs done. There was little chance I was taking both of them with the way she's been behaving lately. So Grandma & Granddad agreed to watch her. Or should I say, they agreed to let her stay at the lake house for the day.
I heard stories when I returned that were very disconcerting, but the one that makes me the most upset? How Grandma was sitting on the porch facing the road talking to a neighbor, and the neighbor asked Grandma if she had a little one for the day. Baby was peeking around the corner of the porch. She had come down stairs, out the door onto the porch FACING THE LAKE, and walked around the side of the house!
Granddad hadn't heard her, and Grandma was not where she COULD hear her. And there were a couple other stories of how Baby was able to go outside or inside without them knowing. So now I need to find a reliable babysitter, or I need to never go anywhere without my children again.

How dare any politician vote for a bill he or she did not read completely. I don't care if you have to have an aide help you understand some of the more technical, legal stuff! READ THE COTTON-PICKING BILL! (Pinhead!)
If you dare to vote for a bill you have not read, you should be kicked in the seat of the pants right down the front steps of the Capitol Building!
If you vote for a bill against the wishes of your constituents, BE PREPARED! Many of you are up for re-election next year!

Delegating to Duds
Planning for VBS has been in the works for a couple months now. In the course of time, I have given up control of a number of things. I gave one of the ladies a list of the foods for each night. Another lady said she'd call some of the pizza places to see if they would donate pizza for one night. She also said she knew someone with puppets and she'd take care of borrowing some.
Another lady (new) said she'd buy the chicken nuggets at a discount place. All the teachers were asked to read the book of Jonah and look through their lessons. The director said he'd take care of organizing for the puppet shows each night. And the new lady took the worksheets, name tags, crafts, registration signs, etc.
Since VBS is for 3 days - T, W, TH - we figured Monday night would be a good time to meet and get things finalized.
I saw the "food lady" between SS and church, and asked her how we were doing on donated food items. "I have no idea. All I have is a list of the meals."
Today after the morning service, we met briefly to run through some last minute things.

The puppets just got here this week. The director is just meeting tonight with the teens doing the puppet show. In 2 days. He's had the final script for 2 weeks now.

The bulletin announced that people should meet at the church at 6 pm to go out handing out flyers. Flyers that were printed a month ago.

Judge not...
I know Scripture says, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." Matthew 7:1
I get so tired of people running around, telling people, "Judge not! Judge not!"
Finish the passage, people.
This is an exerpt of IVP New Testament Commentaries - it says what I think.
Even if we knew people's hearts, we could not evaluate degrees of personal guilt as if we understood all the genetic and social influences that combine with personal sinful choices in making some people more vulnerable to particular temptations (such as alcohol or spouse abuse) than others. Most important, Jesus warns us that even if we knew people's hearts, we would be in no position to judge unless we had lived sinless lives, never needing God's forgiveness (vv. 3-5; compare 6:12, 14-15).
Many people have ripped this passage out of context, however. Jesus warns us not to assume God's prerogative to condemn the guilty; he is not warning us not to discern truth from error (see 7:15-23). Further, Jesus does not oppose offering correction, but only offering correction in the wrong spirit (v. 5; compare 18:15-17; Gal 6:1-5).
When I see or point out an obvious problem (or even one that isn't so obvious) I am not judging - it's called discernment! If I try to fill in their motives or if I decide what their punishment should be - that is what I call judging.

Poor loser
Me. I'm a poor loser. I might not pout, I might not verbally complain, but inside I get pretty twisted up. If you know me well, and you look deep into my eyes, you'll recognize the smoldering that is going on way down deep.
I entered a writing contest, and told myself there was no real chance I'd win. But I guess in the back of my mind, I thought I did a pretty good job.
The speech that won. Hmm. It was VERBOSE. Verbose, ad nauseum. Over the top. Seriously?
Stink. If I had known they wanted something like THAT... And the honorable mention was just ok in my mind. But what do I know?
I get irritated with people who use the English language like that. Speak clearly, concisely, passionately. But don't use a thesaurus to look up some multi-syllable word for every other word in your essay. And don't reward dorks who do.

Bi-partisan, my big fat batootie.
I watched about 10 minutes of President Obama's speech in the online townhall on Health Care Reform. And I had to turn off the TV. I wanted to find a huge pillow to scream into, but I was afraid my kids would "freak out" (in the words of my 3 1/2 year old daughter).
He went through his proposal, assuring everyone that he did not intend to take over the health care industry. Hmm. Where have we heard THOSE words before? OH YEAH. When he was talking about the automobile industry! And look how that turned out.
He promised that by taking away money the government pays to insurance companies, and by taking away certain tax exemptions to the top 2% of Americans, the cost of his proposals could be completely covered. He promised that changes would take place THIS YEAR.
And then it started. "Already the nay-sayers are lining up with every negative criticism in the book. Blah blah blah. But where are their solutions?"
I wanted to jump up and down, scream and pull out my hair! There are several valid proposals written by the Republicans that would not require the government to spend ANY money, but the Dems refuse to acknowledge them, much less read them, much less consider them!! But the general American public will never hear about them, because the president does not want to do anything that would make sense! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!
I had to turn it off. I had to. I walked out of the room, and watched the Jetsons with my children. My blood pressure is slowly returning to normal. The throbbing in my head continues. How much longer can we take it? Everything is a crisis; everything must be addressed RIGHT NOW. We cannot take time to analyze, discuss, or debate the legislation. We cannot even take time to read the legislation. We must push it through before we go on vacation. We must do it now. Anyone who disagrees is a nay-sayer who needs to be steamrolled FOR HAVING A BRAIN!

When?
When are people going to stop relying on the government to meet their daily needs?
I know there are people who need help. I know there are disabled people who need help.
I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the thousands of people who sit on their fat butts waiting for the government to give them what they think they deserve.
Get off your butt and work. If there aren't jobs where you are, go to where there are jobs. Don't quit trying because it isn't easy. Don't quit because you feel entitled to more or better. There are many poor people who aren't waiting for a handout because they have pride in themselves; in what they CAN do.
And what burns me up the most? When these poor people dress in gaudy, flashy clothes, with their hair done up and fake nails. If they are really that hard up that they can't afford food or medicine, how did they afford fake nails and big diamond earrings? The American people are being conned. And I'm sick of it.

Name Calling
I am so tired of people in the media referring to conservatives as ignorant, red-neck, right-wing whack jobs who are the fringe of society.
EXCUSE ME!?
I am one of 57,000,000 who did NOT vote for Obama. Are you trying to tell me that all 57M are stupid?
I recently read an article in the NY Times that basically claimed that.
Well, I sent the author MY opinion.
Mr. Rich, It is your vitriol that continues to widen the divide between Liberals and Conservatives. YOU, sir, are perpetuating the idea of reducing differing views to calling names and inciting anger. Why is it that I cannot disagree with the policies of the current president without being labeled a “hater”? If that is the case, every critic of the former administration is a hater, too. Your opinions may be a one-way street, but true logic is not.
I am not an “Obama hater”. I completely disagree with his policies. My opinion has NOTHING to do with the color of his skin. I don’t think he has the experience it takes to run a country, and unfortunately, we now have to just wait and see what damage he will do to our constitution and our rights as Americans.
I am pro-life, conservative, and Republican out of lack of a real party of the people. I’m also a college grad, with years of experience in industry, non-profit, and private companies. I’m tired of being viewed as ignorant and uneducated. I dare say, I have more education and a higher IQ than the majority of people who have posted their opinions here. I am not a member of a “fringe” group. I am one of 57 million people who did not vote for Obama.
I have not, nor would I ever, in any way, shape or form, encourage murdering anyone; not even an abortion doctor who makes his living murdering unborn babies. Whether the act is legal or not is not relevant when it comes to the sanctity of life. My heart goes out to Tiller’s family, church and community. He has now had to answer to God for his actions.
I am sure many of your readers will have a different opinion when their freedoms are taken away and/or their industry is taxed out of existence, and they are reduced to depending on the government for sub-standard hand-outs. Anyone remember cheese subsidies in the 80s? Look at the Chrysler sale for an example of the government ignoring law, and ram-rodding Obama’s agenda through.
You are in desperate need of competent sources and a math lesson if you think Obama’s spending is less than that of Bush! Does it really matter who has spent more if they both have spent money THEY don’t have, much less money WE don’t have?! Or worse yet, money my children won’t have!
Since when is an observation of the growing frustration people are feeling endorsing the actions of crazy people? What about left-wing haters? Are you saying you endorse their actions? THEY are the consistently violent groups. Where is your coverage of THEM?
Most of your readers like your opinion piece because they are of the same opinion. How is that different or better than people who prefer to get their news from a source with a similar opinion? Is it acceptable because they are getting their view from YOU? How arrogant, sir.

"Dr." Tiller
Today a murderer was murdered. "Dr." Tiller was shot while ushering at his church.
My heart goes out to his family, his church, his community.
I don't condone anyone shooting anyone.
But here are my thoughts.
1) The man who shot Tiller deserves to be punished.
2) I put Dr. in quotation marks because anyone who would kill a baby is not a doctor in my opinion.
3) "Dr." Tiller will now face God's judgment for all the children he murdered.

Technology
Ok, not technology, just tech stuff in this house. I worked on some documents on my laptop and sent them to the printer in the den. I went about my business, making lunch for the kids, sending them to the bathroom, sending them to bed.
Then I went into the den to get my papers. Nothing printed. I tried to reset the printer, but there were no lights on in the front. I turned it on and off. Nothing. I hit the reset. Nothing. I made sure the printer was connected to the hard drive on the desktop computer. Nothing. Grrrrr. By this time, I was ready to pound on the thing. And then I noticed it was not plugged in. No biggie, right? Wrong.
There were no empty spaces on the power strip. I was NOT going to sit there and try to figure out where all those cords were going. My husband will HAVE to fix this as soon as he gets home so I can print before I leave. AAAArrrrgggghhhh. Oh, and now I have a nice "gash" across the front of my leg from making my way to the power strip. Nice.

That the term "Christianity"
is used by Catholics. Society doesn't see any distinction. Whenever FOX has an expert on religion, they bring on a "Father". I was just reading a blog that I follow, and she directed us to an article on decision-making. I started reading the post when I read the little bio off to the side about the author's conversion to Christianity. And she shared why she is a Catholic. Ugggh.

Can you imagine?
Can you imagine the blowback white people would experience if they publicly stated they were only going to shop at stores owned by white people?
How on earth is it ok for one "color" of people to say it and not another? I think it's one thing to shop in your neighborhood versus online or versus traveling to a city. But to say that you will only purchase any item from someone of your own "race" is ridiculous. Shouldn't the real issue be purchasing items that are made in the USA?
That's a whole other rant, isn't it.

The Post Turtle
Ok - so this doesn't make me mad so much, but I thought it was more appropriate here.
A doctor struck up a conversation with a hard-working 75 year old rancher while suturing a mean cut on the old man's leathery hand. Eventually the topic got around to Obama.
The old rancher said, "Well, you know, Obama is a 'post turtle.'"Unfamiliar with the term, the doctor asked him what he meant.
The old rancher replied, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle.'"
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued: "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of complete moron put him up there to begin with."

Apparently, it's ok for a black, gay woman to make an improper joke, but not a white man. What's up with that? If a joke is not funny, it's not funny no matter who the person telling it is or who the people mentioned are.

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.
You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United States. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.
I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20thcentury?
Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?
Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia. You don't show Great Britain, our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia. How dare you, sir! How dare you!
You can't find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey. You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What's the matter with you?

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.
What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer.. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't!Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.
I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Miss California
Just as many young girls (and boys) are too willing to give their love and heart to anyone who will show them attention, Christians are too willing to give their admiration to undeserving people in the spotlight. There must be more to picking a role model than someone who makes a truthful statement. We must be thorough in looking at the life and actions of those we want our children to admire and emulate. That person's life needs to be examined through the filter of Scripture. Does that person have the qualities that we desire our children to have?
Now that might-as-well-be-nude pictures and completely nude pictures have surfaced, do we still want Carrie Prejean to be our spokeswoman for traditional marriage?
Why on earth would Liberty University ask her to speak at their college? Her "Christian values" do not include modesty. She took off her clothes to earn money. It's that simple. Her discernment is obviously lacking in that area, and now we know that it goes deeper than prancing around a stage in a skimpy bikini.
Can someone make mistakes in their younger years, and then change for the good? Yes. But don't stand up on a national stage to make a statement about the immorality of others without admitting there were things in your past that were not acceptable. And don't sign a contract.
The contract, which all contestants are required to sign, contains a clause asking participants whether they have ever been photographed nude or partially nude and if they conducted themselves "in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards."
When a photo of Miss Prejean showed up of her in only pink underwear and a smile, she insisted that it was taken when she was 17, and that it was a lapse in judgement, but that there are no other photos. Oops. She forgot about the completely NUDE pictures she posed for, that have now surfaced because of the attention she has garnered. It is very likely she will lose her crown and title of Miss California as a result of herlie memory flub.
Do not give away your heart or your admiration to the first good-looking person who stands up and makes a true statement. We must be more discerning than that.

Why is it necessary
for my kids to wake me up when I'm napping on the couch? And then not only to wake me up, but to stand by the couch and request things that I obviously cannot accomplish where I am.

Volume does not mean you're right,
it just means you're loud.
Perez Hilton is loud. And obnoxious. And apparently equivocates that with being right. I hate to burst his gay-bubble. (He's the judge that asked Miss California her last question, and is now demanding (LOL - WHO is he?) that she step down from being 1st runner up.)
I do not have to be tolerant of him or his lifestyle, any more than he has to be tolerant of the fact I find him completely offensive, on many levels.
Being loud does not mean he is smart; it does not mean he is right; it does not mean he is even relevant.
It just means somewhere along the line, he learned that he could beat down others by being a loud-mouth.

Spokesperson for Marriage
I have to say, at first I was impressed with Miss USA's answer to the question, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit, why or why not?"
She stumbled a bit at the start, saying, "In my country," and then went on with the rest of her answer, saying that she feels marriage should be between a man and a woman.
Here's what bothers me. First, I don't need a beautiful, skinny woman prancing around the stage in a bikini, covering very little of her surgically enhanced body to be my spokesperson. There are plenty of wholesome, fully clothed women who would do just fine.
Second, I don't think she should be praised and honored for speaking the truth, even in a difficult setting. When did that become such a rarity that we are impressed?
Third, she didn't answer the question very well. She didn't address states' rights, as she was asked. She only answered the question from the perspective of her personal opinion. She would have been more precise to speak to the right of each state to decide that question for itself. Even if she had then given her personal opinion, she may have not been marked down.
To say that judges who marked her down for her answer did so because she is against same-sex marriage is not a fair assessment. I believe I would have marked her down because she stumbled in her answer, and because she did not answer the question in the most accurate way.
I saw Miss North Carolina/Miss USA on Fox News. She says she would have answered the question, "All states have elected officials, and they all have the right to make their own laws, as they see fit, that best represent their state's population. And on a personal standpoint, ..." She goes on tospew say that Americans have the right to choose their partner, and that they should have the same opportunities to legal unions.
I completely disagree with her opinion. COMPLETELY. But I would not have marked her down for her answer. She spoke about states' rights, and then gave her opinion. Her answer would have been a complete, concise answer.
I believe marriage is an institution created by God for the purpose of glorifying God in procreation, and is a picture of the relationship between the Church and God. I believe that same-sex anything is an abomination to God, and it is a travesty that our country has fallen so far from God to accept it in any way, shape or form. I consider my marriage to be the second-most wonderful, blessed miracle God has given to me, topped only by Salvation.

There are many issues that burn me up, and I don't want to use my daily blog to vent about them. I am writing this blog to vent about social, economic and political issues.
